| - Chose Treetop Trekking Stouffville as part of a day of activities with a few friends. I've been treetrop trekking once further north and enjoyed it quite immensely and was very excited this location is much closer to home. Price for the adult aerial course is $67/pp after tax which allows you to do (up to) 5 courses in a 3 hour span. Orientation will take a good 30 mins or so.
Regarding the courses itself - it does get progressively harder but introducing swinging logs and net climbing, but the height of the course feels about the same. I've been to a previous tree trekking establishment and we were more than double the height from the ground. That being said, a tree is a tree and I enjoy nature as it is. We went though 4 of the 5 courses in our time.
This is where I have an issue. When we've finished our fourth course, we headed towards the fifth and hardest course. At this time, one of the staff members ushered us to Monarch zip which is quite some way away from the main courses. It's a bigger, one-time zip line. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but when we returned to the main area we were told we will not have time to finish the last course. We are informed it takes 30 minutes to finish the course and we were 31 minutes away. (Though according to her watch we were 25 minutes away)
My issue is that:
1) We were never presented with the option of Monarch Zip vs #5 course. Had we been give a chance, we would have chosen the course.
2) At a facility like this, I'm genuinely surprised that they didn't let us finish because we were 5 minutes off (according to her watch and not any of ours). I understood if we had 10 minutes to spare for a 30 minutes course, but this is truly inconsiderate on their part.
3) The aforementioned orientation is done in a group of 20 people. Depending on when you finish the orientation (small size course), you can start on the courses earlier than others. As we were one of the last ones to run through the orientation, we were at least a good 5-10 mins behind the people in front of us. I understand this cannot be controlled, but should be a consideration.
I suspect their staff probably closed it for lunch/break time, but essentially we left early because there's no point in doing the previous courses again.
In the end, I choose to enjoy my time here with what we were given, but we all left feeling more than a bit ripped off. If I had a choice again, I would drive the extra distance to a further park.
