| - I tried to buy a bmw at bmw of scottsdale two weekends ago. I was ready to pull the trigger. I had even researched what bmw i wanted (BMW X Drive sedan). They advertised this specific car on the website for a specific price, which was substantially cheaper than what they advertised on the vehicle itself. When I showed up, I looked at the car, test drove, it. liked it.
The first problem I had at BMW of Scottsdale was when they couldnt find the internet price that they advertised. Somehow, the cheaper internet price disappeared when I showed up to the lot.
Secondly, the sales manager STEVE came out and was also being real pushy (i had been getting a long quite well with the sales person jerry who seemed to be cool). Steve started ordering me around from the minute I met him. Although he stated he would bring the price of the car down to the internet price (but not acknowledging it had been advertised on their bmw of scottsdale website for that price), he told me if I step one foot off the car lot without buying the vehicle, he would not honor the price again. I felt he was bullying me and trying to push me around and making a potential car buying experience very stressful. I had to leave because Steve really infuriated me. I would never treat customers or clients the way he treated me, especially when I am trying to make a large financial investment. On top of that, they lost my trust when they couldn't find the price they advertised the car for. i give bmw of scottsdale one out of 5 starts just becasue jerry the sales person was nice. also, i tried taking the one star I gave back but yelp wont let me take it back.
So later that afternoon I went to Chapman Bmw on Camelback (in Phoenix) which had the same vehicle I was interested in buying (Steve previously told me I would not be able to find a similar vehicle within 500 miles.... steve: I found it about approx. 7 to 8 miles a way in Phoenix dude).
I met with Sales person Larry Wise at Champman on Camelback in Phoenix. Larry treated me with respect from the get go . He also didnt play games when it came to the price, nor did any sales managers come out from the back to give me a hard time. He acknowledged what the car was advertised for on the internet. He sold it to me that day for an even cheaper price than that. Thank you Larry Wise and Thank you Chapman BMW on camelback. You made what started out to be a bad day of car shopping in scottsdale a really good one. I love the car you sold me. PS- at 41 years of age, this is the first customer review I have ever written.
