Given the history of this place and the fact that I was here many years ago for the Sunday evening wings special, I thought it would be a great place to head to after finishing my Toronto Goodlife Sunday morning run.
Our group of 4 and half found a little secluded spot towards the back and we were reminded of the impending mob of people to come and watch game 7 of the Raptors game. I really don't know why we stayed in our spot as it must be located above the washrooms and the odor was present.
Most of us had brunch and it was kind of the waiter to let us know of items that were not on the brunch menu that were of greater value. In our case, ordering a regular breakfast with an extra side would run you $12 but ordering the Bonanza with pancakes, eggs, homefries, bacon, sausage and toast is only $10.
The food came and it was nothing spectacular. The pancakes had a hard rim on the outside and the homefries didn't have the illusion that they actually came out of someone's home. They should be called factory fries.
The waiter did check on us later to make sure the food was okay but when he's not at your table, you don't get any service from him. He doesn't really make room for you to pass him when you go to bathroom. He's more keen on putting reservation signs on tables instead of seeing if any of his patrons need anything or are trying to walk by him.
All in all, I'm not likely to come back or suggest it as a meeting place. I think there's much better options nearby... Wvrst anyone?
