  • First off, the driver was awesome. Did his job great and was super nice. My problem is with his boss. I will fully admit that I probably should have asked ahead of time, but here's the story. Car broke down while i was seeing houses with my realtor. Called them and told them I was getting towed to my mechanic. They came and got my car and while the guy was hooking it up I asked about dropping my realtor off at his car 4 miles from my mechanic. He said he wasn't sure and acted like he might get in trouble if he did it without permission. Totally understand so I called the company back and asked to speak to the boss. Told him that I didnt mention it before but I wanted to drop my realtor off about 5 minutes away from my mechanic. He said it was fine and he would tell the driver. He called and talked to the driver and thats when the problem started. The GPS wanted to take us 1 way for my mechanic but another way for the realtors car because where we were going was it was basically the same 2 different ways. Car to mechanic - 23 miles, 29 minutes Car to realtor drop off - 24 miles, 31 minutes Realtor drop off to mechanic - 4 miles, 5 minutes The guy on the phone got all pissy because it wasn't "on the way" because GPS was saying to go one way and we wanted to go the other to drop the realtor off. I tried telling him over and over that it was due to where the destinations were and they were basically in the middle of either 95 to 215 or 15 to 215. But that they were 4-5 minutes apart and it wouldnt take long at all. He simply didnt understand that the mileage and time were exactly what I asked him about beforehand. There was literally NO difference. It was a 5-6 minute, 4-5 mile detour. But the GPS said we had to go one way to the mechanic and thats what it was. So we needed to drop the car off at the mechanic and not make any extra stops. I argued with him for 3-4 minutes regarding how this made zero sense at all. Ok fine, I gave up. I said, "are you going to tell the driver? cause right now we are already on the way going to the drop off and if he turns around you are simply wasting MORE time." he said he was going to tell him. The driver, i thought, then got a call and we kept going "the wrong way". Ok whatever. We start to get close to the drop off spot that we were not supposed to take and the driver starts to get off the highway. We told him, no, you're boss wouldnt allow it so just take us to the mechanic. Didnt he call and tell you? Apparently not. So in the end we passed the drop off spot, and literally within 200 feet, and went to the mechanic. This entire exchange made absolutely no sense at all. I know I should have said something in the beginning, but I asked first and it was ok'd but the reason he got all pissy way simply because of the GPS route and seemed to not understand how the highways worked, which is strange for a tow truck company... oh well.
