Stayed here for 4 days in September. Had a great time. The room was much bigger than expected and came with a great view. The meals were on the money, especially the Graveyard Specials in the late hours (I think the main restaurant is open 24 hours). Lots of interesting foods on the menu that have a distinct island flair. Unfortunately, I didn't get to try the oxtail soup (there was a huge line for it). Maybe next time.
I should note that I stayed here during the weekend of the Hawaii/UNLV football game. The Cal is THE place to be when Hawaii football is in town. Win or lose, it's a uniquely spirited environment and the hotel hosts lots of events related to the game.
Overall, I definitely got my money's worth.
