  • I was in the area on business and stayed at this hotel for 7 weeks between November 2015 and March 2016. Over the course of my stays, I ate at the restaurant, ordered room service, and stayed on 4 different floors (including the Club Access 9th floor my last 2 weeks), so I hope I have a fairly well-rounded experience of the hotel as a whole. All of the employees I encountered were very nice. The 2nd time I checked in, Shannon at the front desk remembered my name, and soon after, room service staff began addressing me by name too. The staff were all very approachable if I had any complaints. This was definitely an advantage because some of the hardware at the hotel seemed to have problems so I had to go to the staff relatively frequently--for 3 of my stays, the sink and/or the bathtub was clogged on the first night; one of the rooms I stayed in had a nonfunctioning phone; one of my doors became physically jammed and wouldn't open. All of these issues were promptly addressed that same day (and the trick for the door was to pull up on the handle rather than down). For being located close to the airport, the area is pretty quiet. The most noise I experienced actually came from the heating unit, which I found to be very loud. As a heavy sleeper, this didn't bother me, but it might be something to keep in mind if you're a light sleeper. Other than occasionally being clogged, the bath was fine, with good water pressure and temperature. The beds were comfortable, and I believe the comforter was down (my coworker was allergic). The rooms could be a bit dry. The lower floors don't have a microwave or fridge. The 9th floor rooms have a fridge, but no microwave. My coworker spent 1 week on the 8th floor and I believe she had a fridge. All rooms are equipped with a small, somewhat noisy coffeemaker. I ordered room service for dinner several times on both weeknights and Sundays. The food is not bad, but quality depends on what you order. I didn't enjoy the "flatbread," which is basically just pizza, and not a particularly good one. The pierogi appetizer was mushy. I enjoyed the salmon and the steak, each of which came with a pretty good helping of vegetables, as well as the California chicken club sandwich and the sweet potato fries. I also really liked the sliders appetizer. The fish and chips entree is huge. One night I ordered, they were out of literally half of the dessert selection. Overall, I was satisfied with the food quality and variety, although it is (unsurprisingly) very expensive, even before the delivery fee and the automatic gratuity. I also had breakfast both at the restaurant and delivered by room service. The restaurant has a $16 buffet and an à la carte menu option; the waitress made a point of telling us that the buffet had the same stuff as the menu, but cheaper. We never did the math, but many days, whether we had the buffet or the menu, breakfast was the most expensive meal of the day if we ate all other meals outside of the hotel. The menu prices are especially exorbitant for things like cereal, which was $6 or something ridiculous. If you do the Make a Green Choice to opt out of housekeeping, you can get a $5 voucher that makes the food slightly more affordable. Food service was generally not too slow, but there were some days where the food took forever. The Make a Green Choice could be a bit unpredictable--some days, I put the sign on my door handle but housekeeping cleaned my room anyway so I didn't get the voucher. Conversely, 1 week I didn't put the sign out at all, but housekeeping never cleaned my room and I got the voucher every day. I found the wifi to be spotty on all the floors I stayed on. However, generally I found that I could briefly connect to my iPhone hotspot, do troubleshooting, and then re-connect to the hotel wifi and it would work. Before I figured out this fix, I did try calling the IT help number once, but gave up after being on hold for 10 minutes. This was a Sunday, so I can't speak for the weekday IT service. One of the weeks I stayed at the hotel, I had to cut my visit short because of inclement weather. The process of changing my reservation at the front desk was short and painless. In general, checking in/out was quick. Another week, I got my folio and found I was double-charged for a meal. The process of rectifying this with the accounting department was also painless and took about 5 minutes. The higher floors have some extra amenities that the lower floors don't, including shaving cream, body wash gel, a bathrobe, a loofah, the fridge. The 9th floor lounge is open at all hours with free soda/juice/water, although food service (nothing special) has specific hours. There is no view to speak of. My company had a small discount with the hotel, but generally my stay was about $700 a week. Overall, this was a pretty good hotel and I would recommend it if you're in the area (and hopefully not paying for food).
