| - Across the street from the Fear and Loathing wall of the Container Park, eat. is simply the embodiment of what Downtown Las Vegas is becoming: popular, fresh, foodie oriented, and absolutely unique!
Yes we did have to wait, but that's only a testament to how great this place is. It's a slightly sketchy intersection to be sure, but... it's all just so lovely. I'm so into it. A pair of benches with the lyrics to "Love Song" etched on them just outside eat.'s windows immediately signaled to me that this was a special place indeed.
I ordered the chicken fried steak with a ginger beer, and the bestie got the huevos motulenos with soda. OMG. Portions were not overly large but everything came out perfectly and just off the line. My chicken fried steak could have used a bit more seasoning, but the smoked sausage gravy on top of it was divine. The bestie definitely preferred the green sauce over the red sauce on her eggs, but put together with the salsa, black beans and plantains, and everything together was ridiculously good.
To add to the awesomeness of it all... our overall bill + tip was much MUCH lower than we really expected for a brunch of such great caliber. Our server was kind and efficient, and everyone around us was just so happy and full like we were. Icing on the cake: the door out says "ate." LOL cool.
