| - The doctor is great, once you're actually able to see him - he's friendly, explains the situation in layman's terms and is very patient. However, it takes up to 5 weeks to get an appointment, and once you're in they give your referrals that NEVER pan out. I've been experiencing awful abdominal pain due to large fibroids for over a year now, and I've been referred to three fertility specialists by two different medical professionals, and no one has EVER gotten back to me. Its like their referrals just ignore them, and no one does anything about it, no matter how many times I attempt to follow-up. In addition, when i finally relented and moved forward with plans for surgery that may leave me without a uterus (without seeing a fertility specialist for alternatives, since no one will call me back, let alone make an appointment with me), I was given a referral for that as well! The system told me to call for scheduling, but after multiple attempts at calling and many hours spent on hold, the surly "scheduler" informed me that she would call me a month before my surgery... So... it seems I have no input in the matter. Life, work and other plans be damned. Thanks for a whole lot of nothing because that is all I've gotten so far...
