The last time I stayed here I gave this place two stars. Now, I'm dropping it to one star. Like I said last time, the place is beautiful and a great hotel. However, the rules have gotten worse. I've been coming to The Encore for over 5 years now. I never pack anything other than shorts and tank tops since Vegas is hot. So, I'm wearing my Baron Davis Warriors jersey and the lady at the lounge says to me that she can't serve my girlfriend food with me standing next to her since tank tops on men are banned. My girlfriend was wearing a tank top too and her nipples were poking through the shirt pretty good. I asked what's the difference if my shoulders were showing. I said my girldfriends nipples are showing and that would normally be a problem in many bars/restaurants. She said men have to wear shirts with sleaves and women can wear anything they want. Wow!
Later at the European pool, my girlfriend was topless and in her thong/g-string. She wanted to buy me a beer at the bar by the topless pool. We both walk up there and they say they can't sell her a beer because she is topless. My girlfriend says it's a topless pool and you are the bar at the topless pool. Why can't you sell me a beer? Their response was we have rules. Mind you, I was wearing my basketball jersey and at the topless pool they can serve me, but not a topless woman.
The Encore makes no sense to me. A great hotel that doesn't cater to its customers. I will stay there again because it's nice and the best hotel on the strip. However, I will never hangout there and spend money. I would rather go to other hotels where things are more laid back.
Sorry Encore, you only get one star.
