  • I recently just had my second visit to Banfield pet hospital the other day. I feel quite satisfied with the service we received. I have to say that after the first impression I had of this place I was extremely weary on returning but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since they were the only vet that was able to see us on such short notice. Now I'm gunna start off by stating that I am a super hypercondriact when it comes to the health of my dogs and only want top notch doctors examining them! Seeing as all my pets (excluding my new puppy) have all gone to the same family vet which may I add is a pain in the butt getting an appointment and oh the prices!!! Banfield was able to see my puppy an hour after I called them. Once I reached the check in station we were immediately taken into the exam room where a VA was right with us. She let me hold him while he had his check up which was different for me but I didn't mind since he was scared. I informed her on the problem we were having (worms) and she immediately told me the steps in which what they could do for us and the costs right then and there. No hidden costs! The doctor was right in to see us and she approached us slowing and spent almost 5 minutes petting and talking to my puppy before she stated looking at him. I was flabbergasted! Her kindness for my baby was comforting. I agreed to all the procedures she preformed except for the rabies shot. I was told the previous owner had previously had that done (I have no paperwork on him) and was surprised there was no bloodwork done to prove that he indeed needed it. But I trusted the vet. Obviously it's her job and she knows what she's doing. They also gave him a shot for the worms and had to go back in 3 weeks for his second dosage. I also signed up for the puppy pet insurance which also covers neutering at my surprise. My family vet quoted me almost $500 for the same procedure! So instantly I assumed there was to be hidden charges that would be thrown at me the day of surgery. After asking a million questions that the doctor carefully took her time answering for me she reassured me the only extra charge would be the pain meds which is common sense. Again I was extremely pleased by the doctor. The only concerns I have is the safety and cleanliness of the procedure. I want my puppy to be comfortable while being put under and cared for while he wakes up. I was told I would have a different doctor for the procedure which I hope isn't the same one I had with my previous dogs checkup. I was not pleased with the man. The only negative feedback I have from this experience was that they take ur pets into the back for injections. Not sure if it's a safety thing, or a cleanliness thing but I've never had that done before. I've always had my pets shots done infront of me. Anyone can be charged for something that wasn't simply done infront of them so that was a little off putting. I also did not enjoy hearing my puppy scream in another room while being pricked my needles without me to calm him. It kinda made me sick to my stomach. Anywho my check out and card approval for the insurance was quick and painless. Also enjoyed the shopping for a treat for my brave little guy after the whole shabang! Received a checkup call the next morning which I happened to miss! Guess I'll have a new novel review to post after the surgery!
