| - When we decided to do the reception at the Marriott we met with Shannon, she was great. Then she left. My mom and I were concerned to say the least. We were only a few weeks into planning, but I'm the first child to get married, so we had no idea what to expect next. Additionally, I was planning this wedding long distance from Dallas, TX!
Cal ended up being the point person for our wedding.
He. Was. Wonderful.
Every time I met with him I left feeling secure and unworried about the upcoming event. We had the reception in the lobby of the Key Bank Building (not the Key Club-the actual lobby attached to the Marriott). There was a small fee to rent the lobby (there isn't one for the Marriott ballrooms), it was worth it. It was absolutely gorgeous. I got to peek in the night before and I could already tell how beautiful it was going to be.
In the beginning I was a little worried that it was long hall (we put the cake in the middle so each side could see, and the people we knew would get up and dance farther from the dance floor) and that the music wouldn't sound right. I shouldn't have been. Again-it was amazing.
Everyone assigned to work with us during such a hectic time could not have been more assuring or on top of "it". They had like five weddings there that weekend, and you would never have known it-I never felt pushed aside or ignored.
Cal helped to organize near the event with our band, florist, bakery, photographer, photo booth, and bus. I know they have a list of vendors that they work with as well.
In the package you get a cake from Wild Flour Bakery. We worked with Mona. She was amazing as well, and was so incredibly helpful! She even helped me to take cake back to Dallas for my husband. People actually ate the cake-peole never get a chance to eat the cake! I got many compliments, and I'm not a wedding cake person-I usually skip it-it's usually not that great--I ate the cake.
The food-catered through the Marriott, it was great. It didn't taste like it had been sitting under a headlamp. They also had an amazing veg. option. I ate the food at my wedding (I hear nobody gets to do that), and I'm glad I did.
Oh! There was a bike race downtown, closing streets all around the hotel. I almost had a breakdown because it changed everything-Cal was amazing, and extremely helpful.
We had brunch there as well. Loved it!
Can you tell I had an amazing wedding weekend?
