My first visit with my new pet was great. Then I got a call about his diagnosis and a prescription being ready. I called back because I recognized an additional symptom my puppy wasn't checked for, I was just asked about (which he didn't have at the previous time of the visit less than 24 hours prior). I was told to leave a message for the pharmacy and I did. The second prescription was supposed to be ready upon pick up of the first one. It wasn't. I asked about it and an appointment because I wanted to make sure my nine week old puppy was okay.
The appointment was NOT needed but the prescription could be filled in five minutes OR I could bring him back and they'd give me a prescription then. What?! Why give me a prescription if you need to see the dog first
When I pointed that out I got the "I'm not a doctor" response and they then gave me "the standard medication for dogs from the Pet Store You just purchased him from" and kind of made it seem like a hassle that I was asking for something I was told they'd have ready for me IN THE FIRST PLACE.
He's a brand new addition to our family and quite expensive at that (not that that should make a difference). Emphasis on family. His health isn't something I take lightly or would expect his primary care giver to make seem like a hassle.
I have an appointment I have to take him to in the morning but once this "warranty" through the pet store I bought this little guy is from is up, I highly doubt I will be going back because of this incident.
Two stars because 1) Dr. Tack was incredibly kind the first go round and 2) the facility is impeccably clean.
