I was here for the first time about a week ago, during their lunch buffet and I was very happy that we chose this place!
I usually go to Taj on Park st. for Indian food because I love their pakora so much, but I will be going to Maharaja from now on!
The owner (I think he was the owner anyway) took the time to go around the entire buffet line with me to show me which dishes had animal by-products in them and which did not, and I was very grateful to him and happy to see that most of it was vegan friendly.
Unfortunately I really couldn't tell you the name of most of the dishes that I enjoyed, but there were several things on the buffet that were REALLY good. The one thing that stood out was a broccoli (and I think maybe eggplant) dish in a red sauce that was simply one of the tastiest things I have ever eaten in my life. Everything I had was good, except that the pakora was cold and soggy when I had it (but still better than the pakora at Maharina on West Wash!) so I wish they would find a better way to keep them hot, but everything else I had was hot and fresh and just fantastic.
The buffet was a little bit more expensive than I was expecting for a lunch buffet. It was $12 or so.
I also ordered the Masla tea with almond milk and that was really delicious as well.
On a side note, my friend that I was there with does eat meat and was just as happy with the buffet as I was, and she was totally geeking out over the Gulab Jamun which is a dessert that did look/sound really good. Apparently it was fantastic.
