These breeders (Fernando Zaragoza & Miranda Payne are selling AKC Golden Retrievers born 3/3/18 for $800. They state there is 24/7 access to webcam (there was only a few days of it) they state pups come with first shots (when I got there they just took $20 off for the shots that weren't given) I got mine on 4/22. 3 days later he was sick. Took him to vet & he tested positive for Parvo & Giradia. I immediately let breeders know. Fernando stated that Parvovirus is just like a fever-Incorrect it is a very serious intestinal virus that a pup gets fecal to oral. Miranda wasn't aware of what it wasn't (per her texts) The cost to treat was going to be over 5K & that was just on an aggressive 3 day plan. Could go up to $15k and still no guarantees of survival. I had to surrender my new puppy to AZ Golden Rescue as I could not afford the bill. Breeders to date have not responded with empathy or offer a refund even though I have text & emailed them both. I found out that pet purchasers are protected by AZ state law:
Pet Purchase Protection Laws are as follows
Created November 2007, last updated March 2018
There are currently 22 states that have lemon laws that provide legal recourse to people who purchase animals from pet dealers, later found to have a disease or defect. The following chart lists key provisions of these so-called "lemon laws."
The amount of time that a purchaser has to make a claim ranges anywhere from 7 to 21 days for illness and disease and 10 days to 2 years for congenital or hereditary conditions.
Common remedies include replacement of the animal, a refund of the purchase price, and/or reimbursement of veterinary expenses, generally up to the purchase price of the animal.
Note that state consumer protection and law enforcement agencies have the authority to interpret and enforce provisions of state pet purchase protection laws. If you have a question about how a state's pet purchase protection law applies to individual circumstances, please contact that state agency.
