| - Had a friend's birthday dinner here over the weekend. We had 16 people (so some of the issues could be due to the size...but I doubt that - see below).
We arrived slightly after our reservation time. We alerted the hostess that we were here for a birthday party - I guess they had three. We saw the rest of the group in "the cellar" which is through the restaurant and through a shopping mall hallway. There's a large bar that runs the length of the room. We were sat into two - eight person tables. No major issues.
We ordered a bottle of wine to share - the waiter opened the bottle (with a little too much force) and some wine went shooting out. Luckily, it didn't get onto anyone's clothes (it was a Rioja - tempranillo (red)). However, there was some (not a lot) on the table/plates/etc. The wine wasn't expensive - or else I would have been a little more upset.
We had snacked earlier at Corkbuzz (see other review) so I got the mussels, and my friends go the spaghetti, the shrimp, and the duck. When I ordered the spaghetti for my friend, the waiter responded, "Really?! um, ok." - with an eye roll.
After a question about how the shrimp was prepared, my other friend ordered the shrimp. We all received our orders. $18 for seven shrimp. No sides...just seven grilled shrimp. "Maybe the shrimp were huge shrimp"....nope, just normal grilled shrimp.
My mussels were good - one unopened, but they were better when I had them at the uptown location a couple weeks prior. Spagetti was good! The duck was amazing.
So, meh service, some things of horrible value.
