| - After living in Las Vegas for a little over four years, and hearing remarkable things about Siena, I took some out-of-town guests there for dinner last night and had a less than desirable experience. I'm not a typical restaurant complainer, but with a restaurant as well known and regarded as this one, I simply expected better.
Let me start out by saying the food (for the most part) was delicious. I will say that they offer a "create your own" cheese plate. The portions of cheese were embarrassingly small. We actually laughed when it came to the table, because I've heard that Siena is known for their cheeses.
Now for the not so good:
First of all, we visited on a Wednesday night and the restaurant was not crowded. Our waiter had to have been new. He mumbled and we could barely understand anything he said. He seemed as though he would have rather been anywhere but there. He took our drink order and about 10 minutes later, returned to let us know the bar was out of one of the flavored vodkas required for the specialty martini featured on their drink menu. We clarified our drink order, and then it took another FIFTEEN minutes to receive our cocktails. We watched them sitting on the bar for most of that fifteen minutes. We had to ask for additional bread several times before receiving it. The service was definitely lacking, and I want to think that this was just a bad night, however, this was our first impression, and will likely be our last here. I was surprised that in a restaurant of this caliber that there was no visible management presence. We never had anyone stop to ask how the evening was going, nor was there anyone visible for us to bring our concerns to.
I hope that the team at Siena can learn from this review in an effort to delight their guests in the future.
