| - I decided I want to have laser surgery to correct my eyesight. I visited here and the 2 other main options in the Wexford area.
I opted to have surgery elsewhere.
We waited around 2 hours for our appointment. We found out that their call center books every 15 minutes and can even double book if they see fit.
They had recently moved and the new location is beautiful and clean, but the whole experience made me uneasy and uncomfortable.
The experience felt chaotic and unorganized. I was shuffled into 1 room, shuffled back into the waiting room, into another room, into another room. I didn't feel like there was a process in place in any way. I also felt like there was no urgency on the employees part. It didn't feel like they noticed or cared that they were so far behind. I found each of them extremely chatty and slow moving which added to my frustration. I also felt like my interactions with staff were not genuine or sincere. One employee was actually insulting the Wexford residents which I found unprofessional and uncomfortable. The same employee also bashed their competition which was unnecessary.
I was also told how they recently moved and just did their first surgery day at the center which was a complete disaster. I appreciated the honesty, but they shouldn't have been doing surgery if they weren't ready to do it. You only get 1 set of eyes.
They use the old technology - with a blade. I wasn't expecting that, but understand that different facilities will use different technologies. However, I was completely caught off guard when they started explaining how much better the blade is than the other options. From the weeks of research I have done - there seems to be a clean consensus that lasik complications are usually a result of a blade, which is why they moved away from that to the bladeless technology.
I would have appreciated a more informative visit, one that didn't include people's personal opinions. It felt very "catty" and fake. I was also very disappointed that my time was not valued or respected.
I give them 2 stars because the facility was clean and new. I am hoping some of my problems were based on the learning curve of a new facility.
However after visiting the 2 other locations, I found them all to be very similarly priced, the process more smooth, the technology newer and the employees more professional and sincere elsewhere.
