  • If giving this place 0 stars was possible, thats what it would get. I lived here for 1 year and could not wait for my lease to be over. The first week of moving in my roommate and i encountered a HUGE roach infestation. AFTER they had us sign paperwork on our move in day saying they saw no signs of bug activity. We had the apartment bombed twice and an exterminator come out every 2 weeks for the problem to finally go away. The exterminator said it was one of the worst infestations he had seen. There were multiple things during our walk through that we noticed were broken or missing in the apartment: the master bedroom door had a broken hinge and didnt close properly, the outlets all through out the apartment were loose and wouldn't hold a plug, only 1 burner on the stove worked, the screens on the windows were ripped to shreds, the dishwasher didnt work...I can go on and on. They weren't prompt when it came to repairs and half of what I mentioned never got addressed. Our downstairs neighbors were absolutely terrible. Loud and obnoxious at all hours of the night. They constantly had people outside their balcony till the early hours of the morning. I lost sleep many nights because of it. Their pitbull was extremely dog aggressive and tried to attack both mine and my roommates dogs on multiple occasions. She also barked nonstop. There was always yelling and door slamming. The children in the apartment complex were unsupervised most of the time. Always playing on the stairs and leaving trash everywhere. Including outside of our front door. When we complained about these issues we were told by Vanessa, the manager, that we were being a nuisance and threatened eviction. Clearly there was a bit of favoritism going on since our downstairs neighbors had lived there for a while and my roommate and I were new. The group of guys that hungout outside of my apartment building everyday all day were very inappropriate. Always making comments to me and my roommate that made us extremely uncomfortable. What I experienced at Avery Park was absolute garbage and I wouldn't recommend this place to ANYONE. I am so glad to finally be done with that place. LETS ALSO MENTION THE 2 MURDERS THAT HAPPENED shortly before I moved out.
