My first visit to the Grist House coincided with the Millvale Music Festival so the place was hopping! The crowd spanned from young to old and everyone there seemed pretty chill and were having a lot of fun.
In addition to the music festival there was also a Pen's game. I liked that there were TVs with the game on throughout the area - most of Grist House seating is outside, with picnic table and bench seating, surrounded by a multi level deck. They can really pack in a crowd. Between music and Pens people were everywhere, and while there was a line for beer, service was friendly and quick.
I enjoyed the "Fire on the Hill" IPA. Ok, if I'm being honest, I enjoyed several Fire on the Hill IPAs!
There were indoor restrooms and the line got pretty long by the end of the night. I noticed there were also port-o-potties outside, too.
Several food trucks were lined up and you could grab something to eat and find a picnic table outside! I look forward to going back. Oh - if you have a (friendly) dog, bring 'em! Plenty of cute pups hanging out with their beer drinking owners.
