  • I've been to Banger twice now. My first time was mediocre but my second time was much better. It all had to do with the beers they presented. I hate novelty beers. And I think their watermelon wit and jalapeno hefeweizen scream gimmick. That being said, it's easy enough to ignore those beers and not drink them if you want to drink something else. I drink every type of beer but naturally gravitate toward pales and IPAs because they tend to be the most common. Their pale ale is pretty good though not as floral as I would prefer. It was malt forward and despite boasting about 42 IBUs, which is on the high end for a pale, it didn't see all that prominent. Overall it was a tasty beer but nothing that blew me away. Hops Anonymous, an IPA, is probably my favorite of their beers. It's well rounded and nicely balanced. It's has a nice rich color to it. My only issue with it is it doesn't have a full bodied mouth feel to it. Overall it's a good beer and will probably be my go-to every time I'm back. And I'll be back fairly frequently because the atmosphere is fantastic and they have free wifi. I like to work on my laptop while drinking beer -- maybe they've just created the newest downtown coworking spot? Banger is worth checking out. While their beers aren't Russian River-quality they are pretty good for a local Las Vegas brewery.
