| - I used to do crossfit years ago (well kind of a different version. Anyways, long story short I am new to the world of crossfit and being back at a gym. I've been going to Crossfit Double Down now for 2 1/2 weeks and I couldn't be happier. The class I am usually a part of is the 6:30 crew which is an awesome group to be a part of.
I work a job that keeps me behind a computer all day long and have a wife who is currently pregnant. I started to notice a little snugger fit when I would put on clothes but didnt think anything of it until i stepped on the scale. I wasn't massive by any means but I saw a number that didn't make me very happy. I knew at that moment that it was either going to go really bad really quick or I was going to have to make some life adjustments and become the physically fit person I've always known I wanted to be.
The first day I stopped in was really quick and I met Thomas (owner) who was able to answer some questions for me. He was pumped to hear that I was ready to get my fitness game back on point which in turn made me pumped. He explained to me that the first class is always free and they'll work with you to see what your overall lvl of fitness is. So if nothing else at least take advantage a free day of crossfit. If you like it and want to stay, the first month is only 75 bucks. Trust me it's worth every penny and you can thank me later
As promised I showed up the next day, pumped and ready to go. I walk in a little early and Thomas welcomes me by my first name and is really excited that I'm back. It's not easy remembering peoples names when you meet a lot of them and typically for a short period a time. So for me, that was huge. I felt sincerely welcomed.
Since that first day I've been attending classes everyday @ 6:30 . Our trainer for that time is typically Zach. Who is super nice, very helpful and is really a great supporter for everyone on all levels.
These guys have changed my life in more ways than I can thank them for. The support I get from the other people in the class is inspiring and selfless.
After 2 weeks, my clothes seriously fit better, I'm eating better again, I can see muscle in my shoulders, arms and legs that I havent seen in a really long time. Like high schools days and I'm 33 now.
I wish I would of started a long time ago. But, i was really good at making excuses or saying I was gonna start "next monday" and I kick myself for that. but i'm here now and ready to do my best.
I'm no motivational speaker or anything and I'm not gonna sit here and tell you what to do and what not to do. But I will tell you that if you want to make a change in your life and once you've realized that it's you that has to do it for your reasons.
Consider making that change with a little help from Thomas, Laurie, Zach and everyone else over at Crossfit Double Down.
