so I had an interesting experience today. I was extremely excited to see this place had 5 stars and 91 reviews and is literally around the corner from my apartment. It almost seemed to good to be true. I called last minute to get an appointment and the got me in right away. When I got there the owner and my stylist met me outside to introduce themselves and were dressed to the nines. I was like this place is legit! So I am taken to the back and explain that I just move to Las Vegas from San Francisco and need my hair to look good before I start my new job on Monday as a regional trainer for a cosmetic company. My stylist starts my hair and this is where things took a turn. He starts my fade and everything is going well but I am noticing that he must be timed because he is flying through this fade. Then he moves on to the top of my hair where we decide to trim an inch and he just starts going to town hacking at my hair in every kind of direction . Then he moves on to lining me up and holy moly! He def got clean crisp lines I just wish my hairline on the right was symmetrical to the one on the left. Now he is ready to shampoo and condition which had to have taken him a minute and a half tops and I am right back up heading back to the chair. So now he wants to style it. I am half black and half white and have beached and tinted my hair grey so it's pretty thick and frizzy when it is dry. So he asks if I like the wet or dry look and I say wet, because I know with my hair texture dry is gonna look crazy. So he puts some hair wax in my hair then starts using the blow dryer and his fingers to create volume. I was so confused because I thought we just talked about a wet look but yet I need a blow dryer for that? I could tell he was def struggling with the styling of my hair because he used all kinds of different products and 3 of 4 different combs and brushes. I ended up leaving spending close to $90 including his tip and the hair wax that he said I had to have. Overall if your looking for a place that gives outstanding customer service and have very personable staff this is the place. However precision and overall styling of the hair is def lacking. I have gotten better hair cuts at barbershops in San Fran for $20. I would rather go to a place that isn't as fancy with all the bells and whistles, and have a cut that people stop and ask me about for weeks to come. I hate writing a review like this because they were so nice and I truly felt the hospitality, but you have to delivery a cut that is just as good if not better then all that to keep my attention.
