  • I yelped for a salon that does ombré/balayage and saw that this place has good reviews with a few bad ones but it's ok, let's give it a try! Plus the pictures posted on yelp looked pretty darn good! Made an appointment and Holly took me in. She's super nice and pretty. I told her I wanted to layer my hair but keep the length, I wanted to fix my bangs, and I wanted to do an ombré. Also told her this is my first time to a salon to dye my hair so I want something different. Showed her a couple pictures and one of them happened to be balayage so we agreed to do golden chocolate balayage. She cut my hair and took her time to highlight my hair and then one of her customers wanted to wash his hair so she quickly slapped on some products onto the bottom of my hair and went to serve him. The applying part was almost done so I'm not too picky about that part. She said to wait 30 minutes -- ok sounds perfectly reasonable. After 30 minutes I noticed that the bottom part of my hair didn't have any color so I pointed it out to her. She said that the highlight will fall down and add color to the hair and it'll look nice. I trusted her since she's the professional here. She washed my hair and then blow dried it and throughout the whole time I was really disappointed because I didn't see any color in my hair. It looked..the same! She blow dried it nicely and I was being really passive and polite and didn't complain. She said it looks pretty and vey sun kissed and that she wanted it to be natural, not a huge change since it's my first time dying my hair at the salon. I paid $160 not including tip and thanked her and went home. I went home and looked at my hair some more and was really disappointed. I mean the dye job was fine, but it wasn't what I wanted. I wanted to go lighter with a change but all I got was a highlight job that should have costed 40 dollars and paid 130 for a so called balayage. I called her and told her I want her to redo my hair and she immediately agreed which is really nice of her. Came in the next day and she told me that I said I wanted something subtle. But I showed her a picture of something that's not subtle. The color I wanted was chocolate gold and i got like copper brown? Anyways, I was there to get my hair fixed, not to disagree. So I showed her the picture again and she proceeded to go grab the same color she highlighted me with the previous day. I wanted to tell her I want to go lighter but before I could say much she was already mixing the color. Then she quickly put on the dye at the bottom of my hair. Waited about 45 mins and she had her assistant washed and dried my hair. The bottom was definitely lighter but it was not the same as what I requested. I didn't want to bother and come back again because I feel like I would get the same result. And I already complained and came back..Overall the hair cut and the dye was ok but it wasn't what I wanted and I paid $160 not including tip to get what I wanted and ended up leaving looking the same..as if I didn't really dye my hair (the second session showed a bit more but my husband still couldn't tell the difference). I really liked Holly and thankful that she agreed to try to fix my hair again free of charge. I also really tried liking my hair and justifying that I'm ok with it but ultimately I'm not. The look itself is fine but I did not pay a total of $180 to get some highlight on top of my head that's almost the same as my hair color. I would recommend new people to come and be more assertive. I think I was way too passive and trusting and that's why I didn't get the look I wanted.
