| - I used to get my cars detailed every so often and whenever I bought or sold one. I had a guy. He was amazing. Unfortunately, we lost touch over the years, so I needed to find a new guy. I turned to Yelp (which didn't exist back in the 90s when I found the other guy). Race Day had great reviews, so I figured I'd give them a shot...
The guy who originally answered the phone was nice and gave me a breakdown of pricing and made me feel comfortable. He answered all my questions and didn't make me feel rushed. We set a date and time, and I got my cars ready by removing all of my crap from inside.
These guys detailed 3 cars for me over 2 days. They did a 2012 SUV, a 2003 SUV, and a 1963 Station wagon. They were very polite, professional, and friendly, and they got super OCD on our vehicles. They sort of ran out of daylight on day two and didn't quite do as thorough a job on the '63, but it looked great inside and out, and considering the time and elbow grease they put in, I would feel obligated to pay more if they spent more time on it. The 2003, they managed to make it look like it had never been driven before... same with the 2012.
These guys do real detailing. That thing you get at the dealership or the car wash they call "detail" is not a detail. Even if it's expensive. What they do is wash your car and vacuum up your boogers. Real detailers get meticulous and it will take several hours. Neighbors driving by will slow down or stop to stare at your "new" ride.
If you ever get tired of your car and want to get a new one - get yours detailed. You will want to keep it, and if you don't, you'll get way more money out of it when you go to sell it (and it will sell faster). When you buy a used car, have it detailed to get all the strangers' amoebas out of it. Always get your car detailed when you go to sell it, you'll get your money back and more. Want to get your significant other a present? Have their car detailed. Even if it's a 15 year old Camry or whatever...
Anyway, I'm glad I've got a new guy for whenever I need a detail again or when someone asks me if I know someone...
