  • The management and employees of this Wal-Mart location are to be commended; their friendliness and level of customer service set this location apart from any other big box store I've ever been to. Whether assisting us in finding items, checking out (or helping us with one of the 8 Self-Checkout kiosks available), or filing prescriptions at the pharmacy, everyone here is genuinely nice and helpful. This is an extremely busy store - in fact, busier than the Wal-Mart Supercenters near McCarran and on Eastern & Serene - so occasionally they are out of items or don't carry some items available at these larger, but I still prefer to come here over those because the employees keep it a stress-free shopping experience. Yes! I'm talking about Wal-Mart! My favorite department hands-down is the pharmacy. The pharmacy techs that accept written prescriptions and ring up the sales are great; I pick up my prescriptions every month and if it's Gloria or Len ringing me up, they remember me, asking after my husband or how things are going. I've never had this experience at any other pharmacy in town. When I had questions about my daughter's prescribed allergy spray, a pharmacist answered all my questions patiently and thoroughly, even though I could tell he was very busy. Another time I received a call that an antibiotic that had been prescribed and submitted electronically by my doctor had an interaction with one of my pre-existing prescribed medications, so the pharmacist was contacting the physician for me to get a safer substitution. Wow! I am so thankful for this catch; interactions can be dangerous. They keep insurance information on hand, send text alerts when your prescription is ready (or call you directly if there is a problem or delay), and offer generics at $4 for many common prescriptions. Plus you can refill scripts with the Wal-Mart app on your phone. What's not to love? The only downside is that they don't have an optometrist or a dedicated Money Center like a full-fledged Supercenter, but for your regular Wal-Mart services, you can't beat this location. Pro tip: if you're short on time, you can double-check that an item is in stock (and find out exactly what aisle it's in) by using their app or website before you go. It's helped me when I need a specific item for class the next day or shopping for a gift. Give it a shot.
