I bought a pool with a salt system several years ago. The prior owner used Poolman, so being new to the area I decided to use them. After a hard week of work, I would look forward to swimming on the weekend many times to find something wrong with the pool that would require service. In the spring a year ago, I was looking forward to swimming as the weather warmed. Imagine my shock to my pool had turned into an insect infested swamp. It appears my salt system had failed weeks or months prior, yet the technician never bothered to alert me or notify the company that my pool was in need of repair yet Poolman was quite happy to take my $80 payment. Why bother having a technician come out each week if he doesn't report issues?
I was about to fire them but was talked into a deal where Poolman would provide a free salt system provided I continued to use them for weekly maintenance. Given the high priced quotes I gathered for a new salt system, this seemed like it was too good to be true. It was.
Last month, I receive an urgent call from my wife. She came home from work to find the pool had lost several feet of water. After an urgent call to Poolman, whose technician just left my property, the technician returned. He had left the pool in backwash and thousands of gallons of pool water was now in the street. That is the last straw.
I'm looking for a new maintenance provider. I don't give a crap about the cost of replacing the salt system. The "free" system wasn't worth the headaches and bad service.
