Still one of my favourite ice cream places in Calgary, despite Made by Marcus opening up downtown too. I think the beauty of Village is that they ALWAYS flavours that you can count on being delicious. I have never encountered a flavour that I do not like, and that includes chocolate (that typically find too chalky).
The only downside is that there is almost always a wait during the summer season. The line pours outside their tiny shop, but I think it's just a good indication that they've got some amazing icecream! They also regularly change out 2 seasonal flavours; usually one is a sorbet for those who are dairy intolerant. One thing I do appreciate is that although they change out their seasonal flavours often, they keep their tried and true favourites around. My favourites are still cardamom and earl grey, which I urge you to try! I have not had the chance to try their icecream sandwhiches yet.
If you don't have the time to wait, I would recommend heading inside and picking up a pint from their freezers. That way you can just pay and share that pint with your friends (be sure to grab some spoons and tissues inside!).
Service is also always very friendly, even though they are always swamped. Staff are always smiling and willing to give you a sample of their various flavours.
