| - There are actually two parts of Minus 5 - the frozen part and the normal exterior bar that has TVs and a few bar games. There's no charge for the outside bar, but entry to the frozen bar is very pricey. I'm not sure I'd ever come back but it's worth checking out at least once.
There are a few different options (and you can occasionally get good deals on Groupon), but most folks seem to opt for two drinks, a blue parka, and gloves for $42. No cameras/phones are allowed once you enter the bar so you're required to place everything into a free (included) locker before entering. Instead, they have a roving photographer taking pics of you and your friends, which cost $20 a pop. The bar area itself is really neat as all the walls, furniture, and decor are made of ice. There was a side room with a huge ice throne that was done up for Game of Thrones while some of the other decor paid homage to the city's hockey team, the Golden Knights. Even with a parka on it's cold inside especially if you're wearing shorts or a skirt. They do have (faux?) animal pelts for you to sit on so your bum doesn't get wet. The cocktail cups are made of ice and my fingers were freezing from holding the cup. Note that if you drink from the same side of your cup the whole time that part of the cup will actually start melting. All in all, it's a fun time and can be good for people watching when drunk folks start taking off their parkas and dance around, but I really can't see making a habit of coming here.
