| - Dig this Whole Foods, for the quality and selection of the foods, as well as the people watching.
Outstanding produce. About the only place in Phoenix to find tomatoes that are actually red on the inside. A lot of it seems to be fairly local. Whenever I need exceptional or specialty produce for pizzas, salads or elaborate dishes, this is the place to come.
Meats are out of this world. To avoid feeling like shit, I tend to avoid drug-riddled, grain fed proteins. This Whole Foods has those, but also a great selection of grass-fed, organic, drug-free cow, chicken, pig and bison, as well as sausages, deli meats and frozen offerings. Great fish, too. I used to think AJs had decent seafood, but after seeing the color, quality and distinct lack of smell at this Whole Foods fish counter, I come here exclusively.
They also have a solid selection of good beers, including bottles I haven't found in BevMo or Total Douche.
Salad bar is huge, and pre-made, hot/cold deli counter options look good, too. There's always a huge line for pizza here, which is odd, since Bianco is about 100 yards down the plaza.
Then there's the customers... You will not find a more wretched hive of super crunchy, grungy, granola hipsters, stuck up snobby Scottsdalian house wives and individuals completely oblivious to the fact they there are other people in the world that they share the same space with.
