I've been to Misty pines with my dog, Moose, a few times. The dog park area is pretty clean and covered with tanbark for the dogs to run in. There is a fair amount of agility equipment in the dog run area if your pup is into that.
The PROS: clean and well taken care of. They require documentation of vaccines. This is great because it's not just done on the honor system like in the city dog parks. Ample parking and wonderful wooded atmosphere.
The CON: My biggest qualm about this dog run is that it doesn't have a double-gated entry to the park. Dogs can easily run out of the park while others are entering and exiting. I was at the park today and I saw a dog escape from the pen because a woman was too slow exiting with her dog and wasn't paying attention. The parking lot is adjacent to the dog run, so the pup could have easily been struck by a parking car.
If they had at least one double-entry gate into their park I think I'd be a bigger fan of Misty Pines. If you go, just be cognizant of where you dog is at all times when people are entering and exiting the park.
