| - How unfortunate. The food was stellar. The service, not so much. We went on September 15th for drinks and light fare. We had never sat in the bar area before.
The bar was packed, the dining room almost empty. To note, I am not used to being treated like a second class citizen.
Nonetheless this is how we were handled from check in with the hostesses (no smile and an attitude- not surprising for most 18-year-olds, but surprising it is allowed in a restaurant such as Flemings) to checkout.
They had opened dining tables as the bar was full but limited choices. Staff acted as if we were inconveniencing them when I inquired if there was another seating possibility as my friend has back issues.
It took her several minutes (leaving us standing in the middle of the dining room amidst strong dining waiting to see if there were other tables) before she returned and said no.
As we watched the dining room, it was apparent staff was being gracious and accommodating with the majority of the patrons, just as we have experienced every single time we've ever come here. It was highly embarrassing as I had brought a friend you would never been to Flemings and I had been raving about how great it was. Unfortunately this was not her experience. In fact we never ordered dinner after the four appetizers and drinks and left.
Every other time we have dined here, the manager generally walks the room and asks if everything is agreeable, the manager was walking throughout the restaurant but he looked very serious and not exactly happy. He never came to our table nor did I see him go to any other tables to check on their experience. I missed this little bit which we had become accustomed to.
Our female waitress which started the evening, was not very friendly. I pointed out a dead black bug on our table when we were seated, she just wiped it off the table. No change of the linens, no manager, just swept it off the table.
However in the middle of our experience, she left and a young man took over who was much more friendly (unfortunately we were already leaving at that point.)
Flemings get it together with your staffing. I've never had such deplorable service while being charged hundreds for a meal.
Disheartening.
