  • Ok, so today had to be the worst experience at Tippy Toes. I came in at 11am, the place was full so I made an appointment for 1:15pm with Tony. When I came back for my appointment the place was still so busy. Fine, so I walked to Starbucks and got a drink before returning. Had to wait a little before Tony was available. When consulting with Tony on my nails and their design he seemed fine. So he began my fill and replacement of one nail. I told him my nails were breaking off and he told me that was because they were too thin. Tony then asked me who did my nails, which was his dad. He did not have a response. Tony was filing off my gel color with the electric file, which gets hot, and you can feel through your nail. 2:30 rolls around and his next appointment has shown up. He told me that his dad was going to take over because his appointment came in. I told him, I was his appointment. Tony seemed shocked and questioned me. When I told him yes, for 1:15pm, and I made the appointment with him around 11am this morning, he did not respond back. He continued to do the acrylic but rushed through everything. My coffin shaped nails are not symmetrical, he got acrylic all over my fingers. Told me he won't be painting my nails, that a more experienced tech who knows how to do a two toned fade will be painting them. So I got his Aunt. She painted my nails the color I wanted, then when it came to the fade, which is a simple paint and sponge technique, she had no clue. She dipped the sponge into the paint, which she had way too much paint and dobbed my nail. It was horrible. It looked like I had dipped my nail in frosting. It was lumpy, all one color, you could not see my nail color through it. I asked her if she could do more of a fade. She tried, it looked worse, I had her take it off. Then she told me that this kind of effect can not be achieved by regular nail polish, only with gel. I asked her if that was the case then why did you not tell me this before you started painting. At this point, I am so upset with how rude and rushed Tony was and how his more experienced painter could not paint. I just couldn't hold back my tears. I hurried up and paid and will never set foot in Tippy Toes again. Of course my nails were completely ruined, because I didn't let them dry. Had to remove the polish and now writing this review. But I am desperately searching for a professional nail salon in the same area that knows how to paint nails, keeps up with the latest trends, keeps their appointments, and values loyal customers.
