  • Finally, a place that has green tea soft serve in Vegas!!! Hallelujah! I don't have to go to California, Vancouver or Japan just to satisfy my passion for matcha. But I know I'll go to those places again anyway. For years, every time I'd get a craving for matcha soft serve, I'd go to a fast food chain and bring home a cup of vanilla soft serve and mix matcha powder - it's pretty legit! And so it seems those DIY days are over thanks to Cafe Matcha Maiko. Matcha Soft Serve: I like to keep it simple. No fluff, no mix-ins/ toppings. Just good ol' cold creamy matcha soft serve. Good quality, good taste. I hate to be that person who's like "in Japan, the soft serve has a much stronger matcha flavor" - this is what I feel I should say because it's the truth but I'm not going to. It's still good though. And their cone is delicious. They're like those Italian pizzelles. Yummm!!! 4/5 Maiko Special: I don't understand why their menu doesn't have descriptions. I understand not having a description for certain things like matcha latte or matcha soft serve. But save the employees the hassle of explaining what's in the Maiko Special and just put the description on the menu! From the bottom up: jelly and brown syrup, corn flakes, red bean paste, green tea cake, mochi, and soft serve ice cream. I'm reading a lot of complaints on here about this item and how the layering is all wrong. What if you're eating it wrong? Maybe, they want you to eat this Filipino Halo-Halo style? Mix everything together so you can get all the ingredients in every scoop and the green tea cake that everyone says is so dry can absorb some liquids. 3/5 The interior is bright and clean. Seating is limited so, get in and get out! It's in a very busy strip mall so, parking could be a pain in the butt. I also wish they had somebody sweeping outside because they have all kinds of crap like newspapers flying around outside the store. I would have to agree with everyone that their pricing needs some work. Close to $6 for soft serve? $7 for a choking hazard that is the Maiko Special? At the end of writing this review, I've decided to skip 10 trips to Maiko and use that money to buy my own soft serve machine. But hey, I'll still go to Maiko while I wait for my machine. My DIY days aren't quite over...
