| - After reading other people's post I am so jealous they had such a wonderful experience! Unfortunately mine was very sub par. I went here to find the bridesmaid dresses for my wedding and found the most beautiful Lazaro strapless mermaid gowns, but I should have known when they didn't even have a color swatch to show me (they only had the dress in black in the store but offered it in other colors.. That we weren't able to actually see, just had to trust them) that we were in for a less than ideal experience. We were told the dresses would take 3-6 months to arrive, and since my wedding is in May and we were looking in December they made us feel very pressured to order right then, we loved the dresses so much that we went ahead and ordered the dresses in a blush color. All of the girls got fitted and when we were told what size to order all of us were very confused, for example one of my bridesmaids is normally a size 0, she is 5'3, weighs maybe 105 lbs and was told to order a size 6, another girl who is usually a size 4-6 was told to order a size 14. They assured us that European sizes are much different and that the dresses run small, even though the sample dress they all tried on was a 10 and every single girl was swimming in it.. We trusted them because that's their job! The dresses arrived in maybe 8 weeks.. Not 3-6 months (I am assuming they make commission on each sale and didn't want us to leave to find it anywhere else) after getting the dresses however we soon found out that the sizes were VERY wrong. We could zip the dress up with two girl in it if we wanted to, alterations for each girl was over $150! We contacted to shop to tell them the issue.. At no point did they apologize to the me, the bride, they just kept saying that it's not their fault, maybe the girls lost weight and needed to come back in to be measured. All of the girls sent in their measurements again and of course none of them had lost 100 pounds so their "weight loss" theory was clearly incorrect. We took the dresses back to the store to see what could be done, they sent them off to the designer and blamed it all on the designer saying they were cut/sized wrong, well when they got back they were still VERY wrong. And even if it was the designers fault they chose to sell that designer in that store.. Not me. They told my bridesmaids that they would have to have alterations anyway and there was nothing they could do, no discount for all of the trouble and massive alterations bills, nothing. And contrary to their belief that it doesn't cost more to cut out more fabric.. When there are multiple hems and the dress looks a certain way and you have to literally take the dress in half, it DOES cost more, $175 on average for my girls to be exact. They all had to end up spending $500 on a $300 dress, it is unacceptable. And never once have any of us received any sort of apology. Don't get me wrong, the store has beautiful dresses but I wouldn't send my worst enemy into a store that is incapable of taking responsibility for their mistakes and making them right. Their business ethics are non existent, I truly hope no one else has to have the same experience as we did. New York Bride and Groom however is an amazing store, anyone in the Charlotte area I urge you to try that store first!
