We live a 15 minute drive from this dealership and let me explain why I will happily drive 40 minutes across town to Fairway Chevrolet.
I sent an email in at 9:45am on Monday looking at a 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 package truck. One of their web consultants texted me a few minutes after. I asked what my 2017 Audi A4 was worth and they told me I had to bring it down for an appraisal. I asked for a ballpark cause I work 12 hour days and don't want to waste their or my time if we are not close. They replied and asked for my vin number so they could get range of value. I provided them with my vin and they texted me back saying 12-14k. To be honest this was a flag about how this business is ran. I texted back and explained that KBB says my vehicles value is around 25k in its condition. Fairway had offered me $25,500 unseen not to long before they finally got back to me. They said they made a mistake. I don't understand how that could happen after they insisted on having my vin so they could be accurate.
I was later contacted around 4:15pm that we were all approved and all they needed was a copy of my DL, registration and insurance card. I sent all those items back within minutes. I then asked if this was all they needed for the approval and they replied with yes. I the asked a second time cause I have been at work since 7:15am and was tired. I didn't want to spend hours at the dealership. They said it should be quick. I arrived at 7:15pm and was again assured this wouldn't be a lengthy process. I waited 45 minutes and started looking at Tahoe's and found a 17 for $59,995 and the sales person said they were super motivated to sell the vehicle. I asked they could do and they came back at 56,995! This doesn't seem like a "super motivated" number. To me super motivated would have been $45k. What do I know. I went back to the original truck. Jamie told me at 9pm they wouldn't hear back. Basically wasting 2 hours of my time for nothing. Jamie assured me he would be in the next day and work on the approval. I phoned them at 1:07 pm asking why we haven't heard back yet and was told Jamie was off and they wouldn't let me know till tomorrow (Wednesday). It seems they this dealership just makes empty promises and doesn't care about their customer at all.
Ed Bozarth may be number one in sales in Nevada but they most definitely are number 200 in customer service. I truly feel sorry for anyone who does business here. Sometimes convenience isn't worth the headache. I will never set foot there again and will advise my friends and family to take their business somewhere else.
Round two!
The GM (Kent) left a message on my Yelp and Google review to call him so maybe we can work these issues out. I called him on Wednesday morning and left a VM. He finally called me back on Saturday morning. We went back and fourth and they discounted the vehicle more to help us out. At the end of the day we were about 3k apart after they discounted the vehicle an additional 4K. My wife and I didn't want to put money down so we said we would call them Monday and let them know. Jaime said they were all in at that number. We called them Monday in the am and Jaime and the sales guy were out sick. I was sent to another sales guy. We made an offer of $1,500.00 down. The sales guy said he would go talk with the finance guy. He came back and said that would work. We made an appointment to come down after work.
We arrived at 5:15 as promised. The sales guy welcomed us and said he was taking the truck to get ready while we waited for finance. At 6:30 he came back and said he was wrong and $1,500.00 wouldn't work and that we had to have 3k. Again wasting our time.
I spoke with Kent A. On the way out and he was a typical car salesman and said that they are a volume dealer. Volume doesn't mean good customer service. To their credit they are consistently shitty people to deal with.
