It was a mistake to come here, I wish I had read the other reviews here and on dealerrater.com.
I bought a "Pre-Certified" used 2013 RDX this past December from Acura North Toronto. I paid $1,000 for the "Pre-Certified" vehicle certification and warranty thinking that I would get a vehicle that had undergone a thorough mechanical inspection and that had been fully reconditioned.
As soon as I had the vehicle I felt pulsing in the brakes and I heard the tell-tale "thump thump" when braking that indicates a bad brake rotor. I took it to my local mechanic and they test drove it and diagnosed the faulty rotor. I went back to Acura North Toronto and they kept the car for almost two weeks yet did nothing to fix the brake issue. They said they could not see any issues. The issue persisted and I complained again and brought it back a few weeks later and they finally, grudgingly machined the rotors as they claimed to be unable to reproduce the issue by driving around the block.
This did not resolve the issue so I finally asked Acura Canada if I could bring it to Downtown Acura and they found the following issues in just a few hours:
front brakes needed both rotors replaced. $505.00
rear brakes needed new rotors and new pads $595.00
front drivers side windshield wiper was broken
rear brake light bulb was out
So much for my pre-certified used car. This whole process at Acura North Toronto was a complete sham.
They also did not register my warranty with Acura Canada until I followed up with them and Acura Canada again for the 3rd time two entire months after buying the car. How often do they do this and do they do this to pocket the money I paid for the warranty if no one notices or makes a claim?
North Toronto Acura is the only service facility that I have come across in years that still machines the brake rotors. Everyone else will replace them as it guarantees a better job but somehow Acura of North Toronto would rather machine brake rotors with 65,000 km on them instead of replacing them just to save some money for their bottom line.
I really, really regret coming here.
The time wasted and the frustration with dealing with them has been awful.
They did not properly recondition the car I bought and I have zero confidence in this dealership at this point.
Stay away, I wish I had done so.
