| - My friends and I were EXTREMELY disappointed with The Yard. First of all, we were seated at a table in some dark corner where we couldn't really see. It was so dark, in fact, that we were forced to use our cell phone flashlights in order to be able to read the menu (to put it into perspective, I have 20/20 vision, but still couldn't read it). Anyway, for me, I ordered the lettuce wrap with shrimp, but was served the lettuce wrap with chicken instead. I considered telling the waitress, but figured that it wasn't a big deal and that I'd eat it anyway since I didn't want it to go to waste. BIG mistake. I normally wouldn't have thought that shredded chicken could go all that wrong, but for whatever reason the chicken was REALLY chewy and tough, so much so that it was hard to even eat. Normally, I'm not one to not finish my meal, but after a certain point even I couldn't eat it. My friend, who ordered a different dish with pulled chicken, thought the same exact thing. In addition, another friend ordered the spinach dip (also something that I didn't think could be easily messed up), but we were all extremely disappointed by that too (we all thought it was really bland and too cream cheesy...where was spinach?). Everyone was also disappointed with the tomato gazpacho, which the group unanimously agreed tasted like cold tomato sauce. Originally, when we were looking at the menu, we thought that the dessert looked really good, but after a disappointing meal we didn't even bother with that. Plus, at one point they ended up bringing over a Caesar salad to our table which no one had ordered, and only after we went out of our way to ask about it did they realize that they had delivered it to the wrong table. Overall, mediocre service, bad table, bad food...not impressed, and I'm rather shocked that it has as many stars as it does.
