  • Denizens of west NDG rejoice! At last, a great locally owned ice cream shop! There are several nearby daycares, as well as Trenholme Park (with it's well used soccer fields!) just bursting with kids and families who can enjoy Ca Lem. Bright, colourful & simple decor. The large exterior banner showing a towering ice cream cone is quite eye-catching, as are the simple but effective string lights outside. There are a couple of picnic style tables inside and out, great for groups. The wall of fluorescent post-it messages & drawings that their fans have contributed to makes for fun reading. The ice cream and gelato options are delicious! I've tried at least 9 of their flavours, including some of the more unusual ones (ash, pandan, red bean and white chocolate, coconut basil) and they were all scrumptious. They serve a generously full $1.95 mini-cone which is the perfect size for my toddler. I've also purchased some of their pints to take to friends' or home to enjoy later. Looking forward to their re-opening in the spring/summer of 2017!
