  • My friends and I had a lot of fun here, and we managed to escape the insane professor's cabin with just 2 minutes to spare. But what's really insane is the (ab)normally steep price of $150 for six people for a 1-hour activity! Luckily we got a cheap Groupon that brought it down to $59 in total. This was my first time doing an escape the room, but I went in with confidence, maybe even arrogance. What could outwit me? Pfft. The room's puzzles weren't exactly as easy as I thought they would be, but they didn't crush my spirit either. Some things were really neat and clever, while others were much simpler than we thought. We were allowed to ask for three hints, but because we kept getting off track or stuck on something for too long, the person overseeing us kept giving us small helpful messages. I appreciate her help, because we would have gotten stuck and frustrated and wouldn't have escaped in time. But it felt kind of wrong to get all of that help, like we cheated somehow. Maybe I'm still too arrogant. Next time I'll see if brainstorm escapes can knock me down a peg.
