| - EEEEERRRRRRRRRRR! HOLD UP!
In addition to all the killer stuff I wrote about in my last review, I found out that this library has some pretty cool areas not found in any other library I've been to. Let me introduce you to the "Media Lab." (Cue angels singing.)
Not only do they have the entire Adobe Creative and Professional suites, as well as ADOBE PREMIERE (!!!) and AUDACITY (!!!) they have a selection of cameras and equipment to rent, for free, for students and staff. Need a lapel mic? They got them (no boom poles or mic socks though :( ) Need a green screen? They got it. Need a tripod? They got it. Need a firewire? How about a camera to use those annoying mini DV tapes? Yeah, they got those too.
While everyone is making those snooze worthy Power Points, ummm... Imma make me some videos.
In addition to all that jazz, they have large format printing, for say, like a movie poster for the piece you just spent a zillion hours rendering. It's $4 per sq. foot. Nifty.
So yeah, knowing that the library basically has a place for non-film majors to go produce and edit is enough warrant 5 stars from me.
Seriously, check out the library Web-site, you never know what gem you'll find next.
