4.5-star? Either I went on the wrong night or Umiya Sushi isn't as good as it's advertised on here. I ordered an assortment of sushi and non-sushi items and I can't say any one of them stood out. Everything did have a common theme and it's that NOTHING was fresh. The white tuna and the sweet shrimp had this fishy (old) odor emanating from them and the other fish were sticky, kind of like when you sweat and it dries on your skin.
Overall, not worth the price or the quality. I understand that Las Vegas isn't exactly near the ocean so the fish is probably sent in frozen but everything just tasted like it was on the verge of going rotten. The staff kept messing up our order and the table next to us had to tell the waiter/waitress several times that they didn't order something that they brought over. Not to mention, the staff were a bit rude in trying to rush us out after less than 1 hour into our meal just because people were waiting and we weren't even close to reaching their self imposed 2 hour limit. When they start suggesting that you order ice cream, that their hint for you to GTFO.
Needless to say, I'm definitely not coming back.
