| - Sabor Cubano is a family run Cuban restaurant. It is not a fancy chain, so if you are looking for upscale dining this is not your place. With that being said, I had a great long Sunday lunch at this place!
I met fellow Yelpers Julie, Kerstin, and her husband there. Julie had been there before and she guided us through the whole setup. You can order off the menu, you can just do the buffet, or you can do both. We did both.
Off the menu we got fried plantains, some crispy things, (I can't remember what they were) and flan. The fan was by far my favorite of the three, but I love flan period.
I am a picky eater, so I did like the buffet since I could see and try all the new foods without having to commit to one if I ordered from the menu. I had some things that I really liked, and some I was not crazy about. The beauty of this place was, I could just go back, and get more of what I liked!
We had a long relaxing lunch, and nobody made us feel like we were taking valuable restaurant real estate like some places do when you linger after you eat. Hey we were all great conversationalists!
The place was packed the whole time we were there, so the service was a little slow, but for some reason it really didn't bother me much. Maybe since I could get my food whenever I wanted it?
The decor is funny and tacky, and the salt water fish tank looked like it needed new water, but this is not what is most important here...the food is. So if you are looking for some good Cuban food check this place out, and try the yucca!
