I've played Stone Creek many times over the years and having recently moved back home from college, I looked forward to playing again. But to my shock, the course was in poor condition. Trash and dead animals lined the fairways and the greens were some of the bumpiest I've seen. Now, I understand there has been rain lately, but cleaning dead fish and rats up off the edges of the fairways seems like it would be a top priority. Apparently not. Additionally, it took me 10 minutes of waiting to check in while the sole employee in the proshop talked on the phone. The cart drop attendant was rude and uninformed. The only reason I give it two stars instead of one is that there were few other people on the course so I could play very quickly and my tee time was rather inexpensive (thanks to golfnow.com). Stone Creek itself is a well-designed golf course, but seems to be poorly kept up and miserably staffed.
