  • Avalon Appliance appears to be ABM Appliance& Electronic Services, Inc also known as ABM Appliance Repair. All three companies have the same Las Vegas, Nevada address; 5837 Lenapee Ct. and officers; Petro & Nataliya Stepanenko. In California, ABM Appliance & Electrical/ABM Appliance Repair have two Corporation numbers; C3593899 and C3411236, but it appears ABM Alliance Repair is no longer operational. The address for the processing agent is a PO Box number 218 at 1966 Tice Valley Blvd in Walnut Creek, CA. Any company doing repairs on appliances has to be licensed with the California Bureau of Electronic & Appliance, but their employees do not need to be licensed. But, if an individual is a subcontractor they have to be licensed with the Bureau. It is illegal in California to do repairs without the license. Therefore, I would ask the Home Warranty Company for the license of the company/worker they send to your house and ask to see it again when they arrive to perform services. Additionally, there is no special training or education needed to make repairs on appliances. Scary!!! Home Warranty Companies should be held accountable for their shady, if not illegal practices;improperly denying claims based on unlicensed companies/workers, hiring, encouraging and offering incentives to workers/companies who perform cheap " Band Aid" fixes and operates against California law by sending unlicensed workers into the customers homes. The contract is between the Home Warranty Company and the Consumer, therefore, it is the duty of the Home Warranty Company to be absolutely sure the companies they use to perform services have all the appropriate licenses.
