  • I've tried a few vets before, mostly by looking for the cheapest place to get my cats fixed or their shots up to date. They were very much an assembly line no-frills type of place where you could tell their key concern was getting you out of the way as quickly as possible. My dog Pearl recently got a bump on her and I didn't want to risk taking her to the cheapest place around but rather somewhere where she would get the care she needed. I did a quick search and saw how highly ranked Queen West Animal Hospital was. I called and they were able to fit me in within a couple hours too, which was great. Before I even walked in the reception who was outside with another client immediately fell in love with Pearl. I already could tell these people actually like animals. Once inside, I felt very welcome, everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The vet tech took a look at her and was very gentle and kind, and once the vet came in for the full procedure, she was also incredibly nice and helpful. No one seemed burnt out, or tired, or jaded. Everyone involved made sure I understood what they were going to do, what the likely outcomes were, and what I needed to know when I went home. They even told me they will follow-up with a phone call to see how she is doing in a few days. The visit, including meds cost me around $100 which seems very reasonable. No one tried to upsell me on useless procedures or convince me that I needed things that I may not have. I've never left a vet feeling more satisfied. I'd recommend this vet to anyone who cares about their animals, because you will find a staff that cares just as much as you do.
