I took my car in about 3 weeks ago with a leaking back rear tire. I was told that there was a nail in the sidewall and it could not be patched. I had the technician show me the nail. It was not in the "sidewall" itself so I asked if they could patch it. The technician told me that it was so close to the sidewall that they could not. Ok, I believed him and bought a new tire for over $200. Today, on may way to work the same tire started to go flat. I went to Discount Tire on Maryland Parkway. Frank there told me that Tire Works did not put a new valve on the new tire when they installed it. He offered to check the tire and put a new valve on for free. I took him up on this kind offer. Upon inspection, not only was the old valve used by Tire Works, but it was not tightened enough, causing the air leak. I will never go back there. I feel like they talked me into buying a new tire when I really didn't need one and then did an improper installation.
