It was great that they can get you in the day you call or the next day. Saw an orthopedic surgeon about a severe ankle sprain from playing volleyball on October 14th. Had an X-ray and the Doctor put me in an air cast and wanted to see me again in two weeks to see if I could start two weeks of physical therapy. This is cool, two weeks in an air cast and two weeks in physical therapy and I am back on the court if all goes well. The next available appointment was on November 8th. I was like really, one month out but okay I will take it. The scheduling lady told me to call next week and see if there were any cancellations. I called every few days with no luck. I was put on the call list for cancellations. So with no call back, November 8th came and I was looking forward to finally getting back in to see the doctor and start my physical therapy. I get a call the doctor had an emergency at home and they have to cancel the appointment. I understand that things happen, so I explained to the lady I really need to see the doctor asap and I will take the first available appointment thinking it would be early next week. Remember the Cleveland clinic advertises same day appointments. She told me that she can get me an appointment on December 18th. So at this point I thought this person is oblivious. I then request to see another doctor in the practice, because by December 18th mother nature will have resolved my sprain. She has to call me back after she looks at all the other doctor's schedules. Another lady calls back and tells me she is going to help get me in today. She is trying to find me an appointment close to my home address, which is thoughtful but explain I work downtown Cleveland and will go to any campus. She tell me she will see if she can get me in today. With no resolution yet, and even with one I can not in good conscience recommend the Cleveland Clinic. They have put a business model ahead of treating patients in a timely matter. This goes against the Hippocratic oath, which sadly I think the doctors have forgotten once they have graduated medical school.
