| - OK, I am one hard nut to get 5 stars out of, however, The Olive Tap earns it. I would add a 6th if possible.
The specialty?..Olive Oils of course. And Balsamic Vinegars as well as dipping spices, tapenades and dressings.
Look, one thing lacking in Americas' culinary process is the quality and high level of everyday ingredients that would serve to elevate our living standard to a plateau of delight that most other countries have at hand all of the time. The ability to obtain the richness of so many world class olive oils and balsamic vinegars is what is so remarkably welcoming about this store. It isn't just a breath of fresh air, it is a hurricane of opportunity to have these IN YOUR HOME, and is what we all should enjoy each day....great olive oils, etc...that will lend to our desire for an improved gastronomic way of living.
The cozy and rustic decor lend well to the excitement you have as you try, yes, you get to try any oil and vinegar that they carry. The have California, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Australian oils and others. There are flavored oils....fruit and herb infused as well as some of the world's highest quality offerings that have specialized press times and seasons. Take your time and try as many as you can to better understand the world of olive oils and taste just what you have been missing. It will change you for the better and improve your kitchen offerings exponentially. The same is true for the balsamic vinegars. There is no grocery store variety here. Fruit infused as well as aged (my favorite waits 18 years for it's time to arrive) and rare varietals are available for you to carry home to savor.
I could go on and I can't say enough in support of The Olive Tap, but perhaps a heartfelt THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE is in order and sums it all up as well as I could offer. There is no need to ever purchase these items anywhere else, unless of course, good fortune in your life takes you to the countries where these products come from. Ciao.
