Really neat neighborhood café that also roasts its own beans. But the clock is ticking. The "À Louer" sign is up and in less than 6 months, Café Saint-Henri will longer be, at least not in its current location.
This is one of those places with a deep local vibe, you feel it as you step in on a Sunday afternoon packed with people. I find the combination of tables and church benches really hip. I can imagine an awesome group coffee date on those benches. The staff is among the most soft-spoken and unpretentious of 3rd wave coffee shops.
Saint-Henri is my go-to roaster these days to get my weekly pound of beans for home. The single origin beans change from time to time and there are always a few to choose from, never more than a week old. Also free drink with bean purchase. There is a choice of two espressos: the default Godshot roast or a really mellow Holy Cow. I haven't really tried the food.
You will be missed, Saint-Henri.
