I wanted Blue Finn, my friend wanted Pita Pit...Dandelion Market was our happy medium. Before I agreed on this place, I had to scope out the menu. I saw tapas...lots of delicious tapas!
While waiting for my friend to arrive, I decided to try the beer special. A grapefruit wheat beer poured over a simple orange chili syrup. Yummmm. The combination of citrus and heat was refreshing with just the right amount of heat. The waitress informed me that this particular beer was not in stores just yet and they had the exclusive opportunity to showcase it before it was introduced to the public. When my friend arrived, she tasted the beer without the syrup because she doesn't like spice. She enjoyed the beer and we both sipped on this tasty grapefruit beverage as we enjoyed our dinner.
Ok so let's get to the tapas. The menu is broken down into sections by appetizers, surf, turf, etc. Deserts aren't listed because they vary by the day. Here's a list of what we ordered:
fruit and nut salad with poached pears
prosciutto crostini
curried turkey meatballs
grilled steak skewers
baked potato croquettes
apple pie ravioli with house made vanilla ice cream
Stars for the night were the salad, prosciutto crostini, and the grilled steak skewers. The potato croquets tasted like your standard potato wedge and were lacking in flavor. The curried meatballs won the honorable mention award for flavor and moistness. The waitress did a good job of building up the desert so I was expecting a lot more but ended up with a dish that was basically an apple turnover with ice cream :/. The food didn't add up to her description. She did however do a wonderful job with descriptions for the tapas. I had lots of questions and she successfully answered all of them! There are so many options, perfect for sharing and for trying new dishes each time you visit.
